CEBU CITY (Feb. 21, 2024)Mayor Mike Rama has revealed more names for a possible lineup, including those from the opposition.

He qualiied that the “long list” will still be subjected to a series of surveys.

For the North District, he named Sambag I Barangay Captain Aileen Guardo, Dr. Peter “PM” Mancao, former Calape Mayor Ernest Herrera II, vendor leader Maria Pino, and lawyer Melvin Legazpi.

However, he specifically stated incumbent councilors Pastor “Jun” Alcover, Jr., Noel Wenceslao, Jaypee Labella, and Jerry Guardo are assured to be in the lineup under Partido Barug – PDP-Laban – People’s Progressive Party.

Rama also mentioned members of Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK), namely incumbent councilors Franklyn Ong and Nestor Archival, as well as former Sangguniang Kabataan president Jessica Resch.

For the South District, Rama named incumbent councilors Jocelyn “Joy” Pesquera, Donaldo “Dondon” Hontiveros, Rey Gealon, Philip Zafra, Renato “Junjun” Osmeña, Jr., James Anthony Cuenco, and Francis Esparis.

The list also includes his son, lawyer Mikel Franciso Rama.

“But along the way, wala man g’yud ta kabalo kay filing of (Certificate of Candidacy) October pa gud. We will never know, only God knows, mao na siya, matira ang matibay man ‘ning amoa,” he told The Freeman.

For district representatives, Mayor Rama said the party will retain Rep. Eduardo “Edu” Rama, Jr. for the south district and adopt Rep. Cutie del Mar for the north.
