CEBU CITY (Jan. 23, 2024) – The city’s college scholarship program has started to accept new applications.

Judy Yap, executive director of the Cebu City College Scholarship Program (CCCSP), said her office started accepting new applicants last Jan. 5 and will continue until the end of February this year.

The CCCSP is available for all graduating senior high schools from public and private schools in the city.

She called out those with complete requirements to submit their documents at the CCCSP office so it could start with the application process.

CCCSP holds office at the 2-storey annex building within the compound of the Department of Education (DepEd) Cebu City Division, towards the north side of the main office building, along Imus Ave.

Kung naa na mo’y mga applications, nganong di man ninyo e-submit? If kadtong mga students nga naa nay application unya ready na to take the exam, mas maayo. Ayaw paabota nga ma unya-unya na, kay basin ma shorten ang atong school year,” Yap added.

She said students from the city’s public schools may submit their applications through their class advisers or school guidance counselors.

Perks

Scholars who get to study in private universities and colleges are entitled to a P10, 000 tuition and P1, 000 school supplies allowance per semester.

On the other hand, those who study in state universities and colleges get a P2, 500 allowance for school supplies.

Meanwhile, scholars who are residents of the city’s mountain barangays are entitled to a P5,000 transportation allowance per semester.

Requirements

Interested students who want to avail of the city’s scholarship program need to provide the following requirements:

  • Cebu City College Scholarship Registration Form;
  • Original copy of Cebu City Comelec Voter’s Certificate of Parent/s, or applicant if above 25 years old; and must have voted in the past two elections, local or national;
  • Original copy of Barangay Certificate as to residency of parent/s, or scholar applicant if above 25 years old;
  • Copy of Proof of Residency, such as water, electricity and internet bill;
  • Copy of Birth Certificate of scholar-applicant
  • Copy of Junior High School diploma from Public Junior High School in Cebu City; and
  • Copy of Senior High School diploma from Public Senior High School in Cebu City, or Alternative Learning System diploma, or Graduation Certificate

Students from private high schools can avail of the CCCSP must provide the additional requirements:

  • Certificate of Scholarship from the sponsor (ex. Copy of DepEd-Grant Education Voucher System or Education Services Contracting, or School Certification on Academic/Varsity Scholarship, whichever is applicable)
  • If completed from Private Junior High School in Cebu City, he/she must have studied on Scholarship Grant; hence, to submit a) Certificate of Junior High School Scholarship Grant; and b) Copy of public Elementary diploma.
