CEBU CITY (Jan. 21, 2024) – Barangay Guadalupe’s Banauan Cultural Group and Pasayaw Festival of Canlaon City have earned the top prizes for this year’s Sinulog 2024 ritual showdown competition.

Barangay Guadalupe bested seven other contingents in the Sinulog-based category, while Canlaon City’s Pasayaw Festival ruled the free interpretation category.

The Guadalupe contingent emerged as the grand champion in Sinulog sa Dakbayan on Jan. 13.

The group further secured the Best in Costume award under the Sinulog-based category, while Canlaon similarly earned it under the free interpretation category.

Canlaon City also won Best in Musicality under the free interpretation category, while Guadalupe only secured second place under the same award.

Canlaon also secured second place in the street dancing competition.
