CEBU CITY (Enero 19, 2024) – Bukas na alang sa publiko ang “People’s Park” o’ Plaza sa Katawhan nga nahimutang sa sidlakang bahin sa tumoy sa Cebu South Coastal Road viaduct atbang sa City Hall.

Kini human gipangulohan ni Mayor Mike Rama ug sa iyang kapikas nga si Malou ang grand opening ug ribbon cutting Huwebes sa gabii, Enero 18.

Didto sab si Bise Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia, silang Konsehal Franklyn Ong ug Dondon Hontiveros, city administrator Collin Rosell, ug Department of Interior and Local Government – Cebu City director Neila Aquino.

“I hope projects like this park will cascade the effort of government to ordinary citizens and residents, in the same way we are constructing airports, seaports, expressways and railways to improve mobility and connectivity,” ingon ni Bautista.

Pinasidunggang dinapit sa kalihokan mao si Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, nga nagkanayon nga ang pagbutang og park naghatag kini og dapit nga kasuroyan sa katawhan kuyog ang ilang pamilya.

“Congratulations to Mayor Rama for this effort that makes Cebuanos proud of their city,” dugang niya.

Sa iyang pagpamulong, gipasalamatan sab ni Bise Mayor Garcia ang nakatampo nga mga tawo, institusyon, ug asosasyon aron mahimo ang parke.

Pulong niya, nahimong posible ang katukoran sa People’s Park tungod kay ang tanan naghiusa ug nagtinabangay alang sa kaayohan ug kalamboan sa dakbayan.

“Tonight is a prime example of what unity can do,” sulti ni Bise Mayor Garcia.

Gihulagway niya ang “People’s Park” nga sama sa anaa sa nasud sa Singapore nga mga park diin adto ang mga tawo moadto aron mogahin og panahon sa pamilya, kahigalaan, o’ sa kaugalingon.

“I’m sure you will go to Singapore and Melbourne, you will see a lot of open park spaces for the people to enjoy, to bring their families, to bring their pets, to enjoy with their friends, to enjoy bonding moments…. Mao ni siya’y prime example of that,” ingon sa bise mayor.

Ang Plaza sa Katawhan anaa daplin sa dagat ug atbang lang sa Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), ang ikatulong taytayan nga nagdugtong sa mainland Cebu ug sa isla sa Mactan.
